Address to the participants of the Children’s Film Charity Festival in Luxembourg by the Director of the Kalinka Russian School
Dear organizers and participants of the the Children’s Film Charity Festival in Luxembourg! Dear spectators!
We are sincerely glad that the Arts and Crafts Luxembourg Technical Lyceum (Lycée Technique des Arts et Métiers) will become one of the partners of the Film Forum's second edition this year. It means that our baby has managed to grow up and begins to walk confidently across the Luxembourg land. Arising people's interest in films from Russia shows that cinema is the best way to communicate in any language environment.
All of us, children and adults alike, are living in anticipation of upcoming film screenings and workshops. Project quality is ensured by the previously announced composition of the creative group which includes famous and remarkable actors and filmmakers.
What is particularly touching and, in our opinion, correct is that the topic of ecology was chosen for the children's writing contest organized on the eve of the Festival. This problem cannot and should not leave anyone indifferent. After all, it implies not only the environment, but also the inner world of the human being himself, who is part of nature. Kindness, patience, understanding, mutual help, justice, compassion, condescension and, of course, love in all its manifestations are the bases of our being, and it's impossible for people to coexist without them on one planet, no matter how big it might seem to us. These issues are also touched on in the movies available for viewing during the Festival.
The Film Forum's second edition has not started yet, but we are already pondering about its continuation and making plans for the future. We are sure that the Festival will indeed become an event of national significance in Luxembourg. We will try to do everything in our power to ensure this.
