KinoMay in the hearts and souls of Luxembourgers
The Detsky KinoMay Children's Charitable Foundation has been promoting since 2009 the best Russian films for children and youth, both old ones loved by many generations of spectators and created by famous masters of children's films, and new ones shot in recent years. This year an annual Children’s Film Charity Festival, organized by Lidia Evtushenkova's Foundation, was held in Luxembourg for the fourth time, from June 14 to 17.
Luxembourg was receiving bright, talented «star volunteers»: Honored Worker of the Arts of the City of Moscow Alexander Koltsov, actresses Marina Kudelinskaya and Irina Lindt, director Anna Bagmet, children's writer Anna Ignatova, director, scriptwriter and singer-songwriter Alexey Levshin.
Just before the film forum, there was a traditional writing contest for Russian-speaking children residing in Luxembourg, including students and graduates of the Kalinka Russian School. This year the topic of essays was «The Magic World of Theater». The contest winners were awarded with memorable prizes and gifts at the Embassy of Russia in Luxembourg on June 14.
A rich program of cultural activities and events was traditionally provided at the Kalinka Russian School, on June 15, with film screenings and workshops — acting (Marina Kudelinskaya, Alexey Levshin), vocal (Alexander Koltsov, Anna Bagmet, Irina Lindt), literary (Anna Ignatova), as well as workshops on Russian toy-making (Tatiana Chikaeva) and on clay modeling (Anna Ignatova).
Students had an opportunity to watch a new edition of cartoon films by the Pchela Animation Studio, which uses different techniques of modern animation, such as modelling clay or woolen threads. The film «Eins, zwei, drei...» was discussed with its director Anna Bagmet and actress Irina Lindt, and the film «Autumn of the 41st» was presented by one of the leading actresses Marina Kudelinskaya.
Also on June 15, the concert «Melodies of the Great Illusion» took place in the cinema hall of the Russian Center for Science and Culture. Alexander Koltsov presented some music pieces from Russian films of the 30s-90s in stories, songs and ballades.
On June 16, the KinoMay delegation visited German Trier, where the creative team was received by two Russian cultural clubs and the Matryoshka Russian School. Spectators watched feature films «Eins, zwei, drei...» and «Heavenly Camel», and then discussed them and asked questions to the star guests.
Luxembourg is an exclusive partner of KinoMay outside of Russia, and here «star volunteers» are always awaited eagerly and with great impatience. As says the song entitled «Hello, KinoMay», «It’s so easy to believe in miracles watching movies, the world becomes brighter and more interesting». We are looking forward to meeting again this amazing and magical film festival!!!
